The Tack GPS Tracker is a compact location tracker for children, pets, older relatives and cars, as well as valuables such as luggage and bikes. It runs for up to 30 days on a charge, and reports its position over the mobile network using a SIM card that is already installed.
At a glance: GPS tracker with its own SIM card. Up to 30 days per charge. Works in 30+ countries. No wiring or installation. Needs a Tack Cloud plan after the included 30 days: from US$3.75 per month on a one-year plan, or as low as US$2.65 per month on a three-year plan. Fall detection not included (see the Tack GPS Plus Tracker).
What it does
- Regular location updates in the OurSphere app for iPhone and Android, as often as every minute in Emergency mode on the Premium plan.
- Geofenced safe zones, with an alert when the tracker arrives or leaves.
- Location sharing by link, so someone else can see where the tracker is without installing the app.
- Location history, kept for 14 or 90 days depending on your Tack Cloud plan.
Which model to choose
Pick this standard Tack GPS Tracker if the tracker will stay within Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, or the four Asian markets it covers: Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. For most buyers in those regions it does the same job as the Plus for less.
Pick the Tack GPS Plus Tracker (Global Version) instead if the tracker will be used anywhere else in Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, or if you want Fall Detection Notification or the Indoor Elevation Finder. Coverage is tied to the device rather than to the subscription, so upgrading later means buying a new tracker, not switching plan.
Where it works
The Tack GPS Tracker roams in 30+ countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States.
Within Asia that is Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan only. See the full coverage list before you buy if the tracker will travel.
Using it in a car
- No installation. The tracker runs on its own battery, so there is no wiring and nothing to plug into the car. Just keep it charged, up to 30 days between charges.
- Placement matters. GPS needs a view of the sky. Place it where it is not fully enclosed by metal, for example under a seat or in a door pocket, rather than in a closed boot. The more metal around it, the lower the accuracy.
- To fix it in place, the Magnetic Wonder Case attaches the tracker to a metal surface on the car with two neodymium magnets.
- What you get: the car's location in the OurSphere app, safe-zone alerts when it leaves or arrives at places like home or the office, a shareable location link, and 14 or 90 days of location history.
- What it does not do: it shows where the car is. It does not read speed, fuel or engine data, and it is not a theft-recovery service.

Questions buyers ask
Do I need to buy a SIM card or a data plan?
No. The SIM card is already installed and 30 days of Tack Cloud is included with the device. After that, a Tack Cloud subscription covers the data and the location reporting, from US$3.75 per month on a one-year Standard plan, or as low as US$2.65 per month on a three-year plan. There is no separate mobile plan to arrange.
How much does it cost to run each month?
Tack Cloud Standard works out to US$3.75 per month on a one-year plan, US$2.95 on two years and US$2.65 on three years. Premium, which updates more often and keeps 90 days of history, works out to US$5.75, US$4.95 and US$4.65 per month. A 3-month plan that renews automatically is also available in the OurSphere app, at US$4.95 per month for Standard and US$6.95 for Premium. You can switch from Standard to Premium later. Prices are shown in US dollars; your local price appears at checkout.
Will it work when I travel abroad?
It works in the 30+ countries on the coverage list and does not report a location outside them. That covers Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand well. In Asia it covers only Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, so if the tracker will go to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand or the Philippines you need the Tack GPS Plus Tracker instead.
How often does the location update?
On the Standard plan, every 60 minutes in Standard mode, every 10 minutes in Active mode and every 2 minutes in Emergency mode. On the Premium plan those become 10 minutes, 5 minutes and 1 minute. The interval comes from the plan, so it can be changed without changing the hardware.
Does it work indoors?
Yes, but less precisely. Outdoors with a clear view of the sky it is accurate to about 3 to 5 metres. Indoors it falls back to Wi-Fi positioning, typically 10 to 30 metres. Where only cell towers are in range, expect roughly 100 to 250 metres, which points you to a building or a block rather than a room.
How long does the battery last in Emergency mode?
Emergency mode is for short searches and switches itself off after an hour. If you switch it back on every hour, expect roughly 1 to 3 days of battery, compared with up to 30 days in Standard mode.
Does the tracker make a sound or beep?
No. Neither Tack GPS nor Tack GPS Plus has a speaker or beeper, so the tracker cannot ring to help you find it. To find a misplaced tracker, open the OurSphere app to see where it last reported on the map, and check location history for where it has been.
Is it waterproof?
It is splash resistant, not waterproof. Light rain and splashes are fine, but do not submerge it, wear it in the shower or take it swimming.
Does it have fall detection?
No. Fall Detection Notification and the Indoor Elevation Finder are features of the Tack GPS Plus Tracker only. If either matters to you, choose that model.
When do the 30 free days of Tack Cloud start?
When you activate the tracker in the OurSphere app, not on the day you buy it. A tracker bought as a gift or kept as a spare does not use up its free month while it is still in the box.
Does roaming cost extra?
There is no separate roaming plan to set up. The preinstalled SIM roams across the 30+ supported countries, and your Tack Cloud subscription is what keeps the tracker reporting while it is in any of them.
How long does it take to charge?
About 1.5 hours with the USB-C cable in the box. The light shows red while charging and turns green when full, and the tracker keeps working while it charges.
What happens when the battery runs out?
The tracker stops sending its position until you charge it over USB-C. The locations it already reported stay in the app for the retention period of your plan, 14 days on Standard and 90 days on Premium, so you can still see where it was last seen.
How is this different from an AirTag or other Bluetooth tag?
Bluetooth tags such as AirTag depend on someone's phone being nearby to report where they are. The Tack GPS Tracker has its own GPS and SIM card, so it reports its location on its own wherever there is mobile coverage in a supported country.
Can someone else see the location without the app?
Yes. You can share a location link with another person, which is useful for a family member or a sitter who does not want to install anything.
Can other family members see where the tracker is?
Yes. The owner can give ongoing access to other OurSphere users with a Guest Access Code, or send a link that works for 1, 3 or 7 days with no account needed. Access can be removed at any time.
Can I manage more than one tracker in one app?
Yes. One OurSphere account can hold several trackers, which suits families with more than one child or pet. Each tracker needs its own Tack Cloud plan.
Is there an emergency button?
Yes. Press the power button once to send a One-Click Alert with the tracker's location to the OurSphere app. It needs mobile coverage to send, and it notifies your family in the app. It does not call emergency services.
Can I use it as a car GPS tracker without wiring?
Yes. It is battery powered, so there is nothing to install or wire in. Place it somewhere in the car that is not fully enclosed by metal, or fix it to the car with the Magnetic Wonder Case, keep it charged, and follow the car's location in the OurSphere app. It shows location only, not speed, fuel or engine data.
How big is it?
It measures 47 x 37 x 17 mm and weighs 30 g, about the size of a matchbox, so it fits in a pocket, a bag or a pet collar pouch.
Can I return it if it is not right for me?
Within limits, yes. You can request a return within 14 days of the purchase date by emailing support@tackgps.app inside that window. The tracker has to come back unused and in original condition, with all packaging, accessories, charging cable and documentation, and it must not have been registered, activated or paired with an OurSphere account. That last condition is the one to note: once you set the tracker up in the app it is no longer returnable, so decide from the coverage list and the specifications rather than by activating it to try it out. Return shipping is at your cost unless the return is due to a fault on our side. Tack Cloud subscription fees are generally non-refundable, with billing errors considered case by case. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 14 business days.
